POEM 227: LOVE
we push about one another
never wanting to lend a shoulder
we mock the weak
and spread abroad faint rays of fear

we forget that we were all human
before the birth of faith and gods

so
we create great divides
and build up walls of partition

but

if we could sit on grasses
and like children share a box of candies

we'd realize we all our wired — one to other —
black, pale or white

we will see clearly —
without blurred dots —
that grey line between the differences
that colour or blinds

we would clap and tap our dusty feet
to the nursery rhymes of humanness

we'd remember what Jesus said
"love your neighbour as your own self"
— no better truth

then we'll raise voices
and in unison sing
loving God
living each other
making music with black and white
making life a journey worth another ride
for
all
of
us
