POEM 217: AN OASIS OF CRIMSON WATERS
she walked down the shallow ridge
feeling a bit hollow and cringed
when the sun peeked from a cone-shaped cloud
how sublime is this burning ball of light
that melt like wax her resolve
to walk deeper into this abyss of self pity
how the union of two smitten souls
could erupt like blood from slit throats,
one wandering over the heart of time
whilst the other, her lover's,
tumble over a flight of stairs,
to pay, in ever-yearning tolls,
for pains caused:
- caused by courses coarse
- coarse by coursed cusses
- cussed by coarse courses
there she stands alone,
smitten with awe at the sun's smiles,
though burning in the inside,
by everlasting flames strapped to it's core,
but her pristine patch of broken jars
can't contain a little pain from a jilt, her past, to repay
of an apple tree and a serpent's guile,
of Eden’s glee and the creator's lullaby,
when he visits in the cool of twilight
no chandelier could, ever, in glory lights, match
the bliss she once did possess
no penance garnered
no confession made
no bleating lamb by the altar burnt
can atone the guilt that her soul depress
like a pilgrim in alien seas, sailing without compass,
the many waters of doubt traps
she's lost in karma's quest
kissed by wind of hope
she sighs and blesses the sun
for throwing a light at her dark parts,
for melting to wax, her swollen pride,
though her world is torn apart
and shred into many parts,
she crawls out of her pity pit,
yearning for the crimson waters that drip from Golgotha's ugly tree
though estranged from Him
the Son did smile on her guilt,
with the rays of love, and like science,
demystified the hold of sin on her trodden heart
now she swims, daily, ever,
in an oasis of grace
now she stares, daily, ever,
at his glowing face:
- glowing but burning with desire
- desire her likes to attract
- attract attentions diverted to self pity and guilt
- guiltless to make 'em all
- all that to him return
what, she asks you, is eternal,
in the loss of being,
like being estranged forever from the Son of grace?
lift up your eyes, from your sulking,
on the horizon, is the sun,
peeking from behind a rugged hill,
whose ray of hope dissolve in droplets of crimson waters
to form an oasis of love:
a love worth feeling
a love worth free
a love worth you
a love for you
