POEM 175: AREFENOHA

Since time began,
so goes the tale that has no end,
from amalgamation to the independent times,
History swears to repeat herself
Up north, down south to set boundaries.
Left west, right east, weapons harnessed,
one against the other to stir
the pot of sour soup again,
and belch in disgustion
how Arewa, Afenifere and Ohaneze
set at liberty ideologies that divide than gather
the colossal hope of Nigeria,
which lies in a heart of fear,
in the hands of a senile grandpa,
served as diner to Arefenoha,
while the masses writhe in hunger.
