POEM 152: BORROWED LIFE
She's walking by life
in borrowed shoes;
staggering as she saunters
down a town in ruins.
She's strolling by life
on a borrowed time;
whistling as time tick tuck
dancing about like a ship not docked.
She's flying through life
on borrowed wings;
gliding painfully against the wind
hanging on broken lines.
She's writing through life
on a borrowed scroll;
scribbling scars on her smiles
her skin a tattoo of joys she used to know.
She's scrolling through life
like a lost soul;
floating past the finish line
with a sigh and alien moan.
