POEM 131: RHETORICS

Who can groom the tortoise's head into a garden of hairs?
Who can give the vulture a dove face-lift?
Who can unlearn the African of western dependencies?
Whose faith's free from fallacy?
Who knows what joke God played on humanity?
Whose finger can fit into the beetle's anus?
Who can tell 'this' you from 'that' you?
Who knows how far East's from the West?
Why doth my pen ponder rhetorical?
These and more are questions I dare to ask
When life posit as fortresses impenetrable
And this dark corner against light impregnable.
