POEM 128: HEART-QUAKE
From East to the West
I sent my heart on a journey
To bring East her waste
For recycling, remolding, re-loving.
But her art ate my heart
With words warlike Wednesday waylaid
When the next day I laid
sipping the tea of anticipation
From a cup of trust...
Just when I thought the noise I heard
from the market square to my head
Were shouts of joy...
I received my heart again
in a parcel of tears.
This is that moment when memories makes my heart quake.
For tonight just over my head
I heard her whisper 'I wish you're here'
The foundations of my heart quake
Like it did when empty I returned
From my love hunt.
