POEM 95: NIGHTMARE
We used to talk and laugh
about everything before.
We used to run unclad
flinging shame off the door.
All that matters was how well my smiles lit up our room
and how sweet your voice welcomes me home.
Sunrise and set on our feet
But since nightfall
the world crashed on our feet.
I turn and toss
and scream out of my sleep.
Fond memories replaying in my dream.
Your smiles etched in vampire fangs
Deep it bites, your kisses now
Deep it hurts, this nostalgia.
'Sighs'
I was broken before
You only broke me more.
