POEM 72: TRANSITION

Present:
I wrote this poem in transit
watching as the world sped past me
I'm left behind time
in transition to nowhere.

Flashback:
You told me it takes two to make a pair
but why strip me of you
and leave me in fresh despair
after saying 'I Do'?

Like a dog that sipped stout
you walked away barking at your shadow
for staying behind when you left.
It takes two to tango,
remember,
even your shadow knows better.

Present:
I wrote this poem in transit
watching as the world sped past me.
I'm left behind time
in transition to nowhere.
