POEM 64: RAINBOW AND MONOCHROME
Though the sky made itself into a watercolor daydream,
splashing rainbow stripes
over the dark skyline,
the promise of kisses
and embrace from gender mates
distort simple childhood memories
with teenage vanities.
I am left with a metallic taste
sitting on my lips
one for my X
I wonder Y
another
like the remnants of a bitten tongue
it hurts
doesn't feel right
but this bait, this bait...
this rainbow in the sky
I don't know what lies
within this lines
but I see rainbow lines
in black and white
tonight.
